Apie Zenoną Norkų žino arba bent jau yra ką nors girdėję visi. Jį galite sutikti Filosofijos fakulteto koridoriuose, įsikūnijusį akademiko, administratoriaus, mokslo ir strateginės veiklos prodekano vaidmenyse, o be viso to – dar ir intensyviai užsiimantį moksline veikla. Dėl šių priežasčių nusprendėme, kad niekas geriau nepaaiškins sociologijos raidos aplinkybių, nei visų gerbiamas habilituotas socialinių mokslų daktaras Zenonas Norkus.
Sovietmečio pradžioje sociologija nebuvo pripažįstama kaip mokslo disciplina. Vėliau jai buvo suteikta galimybių atsiskleisti. Kaip manote, kas paskatino sovietinę valdžią pakeisti savo požiūrį į sociologijos mokslą, suteikiant jam daugiau svarbos?
Iš tikrųjų sociologiniai tyrimai Sovietų Sąjungoje buvo atliekami jau maždaug nuo 1960-ųjų metų. Šio dešimtmečio pabaigoje jie buvo pradėti vykdyti ir mūsų šalyje, kuri tuo metu buvo sovietinė respublika. Visa tai savo puikioje disertacijoje „Sociologinio diskurso raida Lietuvoje (1960-2000)“ ištyrė mūsų fakulteto absolventas, dabar dirbantis Klaipėdos universitete Liutauras Kraniauskas. Sovietų Sąjungos žlugimo išvakarėse, kai kuriose srityse (pavyzdžiui, darbo, jaunimo, miesto sociologijoje) buvo pasiektas aukštas lygis. Be sociologiniais tyrimais gaunamos informacijos, valdyti sudėtingos modernios industrinės visuomenės neįmanoma, todėl tokie tyrimai buvo reikalingi ir sovietinei valdžiai. Tiesa, buvo mokoma tik empirinių tyrimų technikos, nes buvo tik viena „teisinga“ visuomenės teorija, kurios mokydavo „mokslinio komunizmo“ dėstytojai. Todėl sociologijos studijų, apimančių visus sociologijos mokslo aukštus, įsteigimas buvo „įstrigęs“.
Kokios, Jūsų manymu, yra sociologijos, kaip dalyko, atsiradimo aplinkybės aukštosiose mokyklose?
1985 m. atėjus Michailui Gorbačiovui į valdžią, „ledai pajudėjo“. Buvo pradėtos kurti visavertės sociologijos studijos, netgi steigiami sociologijos fakultetai. Iš profesoriaus Arvydo Matulionio, kuris čia, Lietuvoje, kuriant sociologijos studijas pasidarbavo daugiausiai, girdėjau, kad tokį fakultetą buvo rengiamasi įkurti ir Vilniuje. Atkuriant nepriklausomybę, galiausiai buvo nuspręsta atkurti Filosofijos fakultetą.
Kokias įžvelgiate problemas, susijusias su vis mažėjančiu abiturientų stojimu į sociologiją?
Problemos gerai žinomos. Mažėja bendras abiturientų skaičius. Be to, paskutiniaisiais metais valstybės valdžia vykdo politiką, kuria siekiama abiturientus atbaidyti nuo socialinių mokslų specialybių, jas „antireklamuojant“ kaip neperspektyvias. Vis daugiau jaunimo vyksta studijuoti į užsienį.
Gal turite pasiūlymų, kaip būtų galima daugiau pritraukti sociologijos mylėtojų ir paskatinti juos studijuoti sociologiją?
Galbūt reikėtų plačiau skleisti baigusių sociologiją žmonių sėkmės istorijas, taip sklaidant „neperspektyvumo“ mitą. Iš tikrųjų, prieš kurį laiką atliktas tyrimas parodė, kad bedarbių tarp mūsų absolventų nėra, dauguma jų kopia karjeros laiptais, nėra apgailestaujančių, kad studijavo sociologiją. Daugelis ją rinkosi „antruoju numeriu“, o vėliau įsitikino, kad tos studijos ne tik įdomios, bet ir pakankamai praktiškos.
Kokį įnašą visuomenei daro sociologai?
Sociologija yra „socialinė sintetika“, kuri siekia pateikti visuminį daugiaspalvį visuomenės vaizdą. Todėl ji yra savotiškas visuomenės veidrodis. Jeigu nebesinori žiūrėti į veidrodį, ką tai pasako apie pačią visuomenę?
